CoreStation 20 is built for the kind of deployment that starts at two doors and grows to twenty. 500,000-user capacity from day one, with modular expansion via OSDP V2 to grow the door count without forklift upgrades. The SAM slot on the CS-20P variant adds hardware-backed smart card authentication for sites that demand it.
SYSTEM DIAGRAM
Centralised intelligent access control.
BioStar 2 server talks to CoreStation 20 over IP, which controls Suprema biometric and RFID readers downstream via OSDP V2 RS-485. Reader-to-controller communications are encrypted end-to-end. PoE+ on the CS-20P removes the need for a local power supply — one cable does both.
RESILIENCE
Offline Facility Code mode — security that doesn't blink.
If the network or BioStar 2 server goes down, CoreStation 20 stays running on its own Facility Code logic. Valid credentials still unlock authorised doors, events are buffered locally, and full sync resumes as soon as connectivity returns. Door security never stops.
