MULTI-CREDENTIAL

Multiple contactless access methods.

BioStation 3 reads DataMatrix, QR Code, Aztec, Micro QR, PDF417, Code39, Code128, UPC and EAN — alongside NFC/BLE mobile credentials and multi-technology RFID. Ideal for visitor flows, ticketed access, contractor onboarding and any environment where the credential is the moment.

Face. AI facial authentication with sub-0.2 s matching and liveness detection.

Mobile (NFC + BLE). Phone-as-credential via Suprema Mobile Access — no physical card needed.

QR / Barcode. DataMatrix, QR, Aztec, PDF417, Code39/128, UPC, EAN — visitor passes and contractor codes.

RFID + Scrambled PIN. 125 kHz EM, 13.56 MHz MIFARE/DESFire/FeliCa, plus scrambled on-screen PIN keypad.

Enterprise offices. Compact form factor fits standard mullion installations without re-cutting frames.

Workplace turnstiles. Drops into turnstile uprights — same wiring as the previous-gen reader.

Outdoor entrances. IP65 dust + water and IK06 impact rating handle weather and traffic.

Quick installation. PoE+ delivers internet + power in a single cable — no separate PSU run.

Less wiring. Wi-Fi enables wireless connection to BioStar 2 for retrofits where Ethernet isn't viable.

Easy to connect. USB host expansion supports RS-485 / RS-232 add-ons — bridge legacy peripherals.

AI-based facial authentication with higher efficiency and performance.

Deep-learning facial authentication with sub-0.2 s match time and 0.3–1.0 m authentication distance. The on-board NPU keeps power consumption low while sustaining accuracy across lighting conditions, ethnicities, masks and appearance variations.

Fast & smart AI. Suprema's NPU-accelerated facial AI optimised for access throughput — every reader is its own brain.

Nonstop pass-through. 0.2-second matching speed lets users walk through without breaking stride.

Every ethnicity, every variation. Accurate across skin tones, hair changes, glasses, masks and ageing — no re-enrolment.

Anti-spoof protected. IR liveness detection rejects photo, screen and basic 3D-mask spoofing attempts.

Reliable in any light. Dual IR + visual cameras compensate for low light, backlight and harsh outdoor conditions.

Self-enrolment in seconds. Users enrol their own face from the BioStar Mobile app — no admin queue, no on-site visit.

PRIVACY

The highest level of privacy protection.

Face Template on Mobile stores the user's facial template on their own smartphone instead of a central server — POPIA-compliant biometric authentication where the device never holds the data. Enrol once on the phone, authenticate at every reader.

INTERCOM

Easy communication across all access points.

Built-in VoIP intercom turns every BioStation 3 into a two-way communication point. SIP-compatible for native integration with existing PBX systems — visitors and unscheduled staff reach reception directly from the door, no parallel intercom hardware required.
